beyond the space limitations of two-dimensional CDs and DVDs

compact disk and DVD science and equipment have constraints. The compression of storage on the surface of information media is approaching a basic physical limit. Holotech data storage is a new method of data coding and factor processing. Holographic information storage can save data, a megabyte at once, by saving an entire page of information at once permeating the depth of the recording media. When one focuses a reference beam with the same wave phase and at the identical angle used to imprint the holographic picture in the recordable media, then the hologram encoded in the storage material diffracts the beam and recreates the original data beam. This ray is then convertd into electronic signals for computer operating. Wavelength severalxing enables several pictures to be stored and accessed from the same media by changing the wavelength of the reference laser beam. The capacity to store data spanning the whole thickness of data storage media instead of just the top area makes it possible for one to contain hundreds of times as much information in a disk vs. a conventional DVD. Holographic information storage is a likely contender to improve on rows of server racks and reels of magnetic tape for archival information storage in major data centers. Holographic data storage drives are projected to eventually be able to store an entire terabyte of content per disk and to transfer information at rates of a gigabyte each second. At this rate, it would take less than a minute to transmit an entire movie. Unique discussion and topics at Virtual Reality Player .
